Sunday Services

10:00 A.M. - Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion)

Eucharist celebrated
Holy Communion is celebrated.

We welcome you to join us in hearing God's Word read and applied to our lives. We also celebrate holy communion by which we remember Jesus Christ's atoning death not only for our sins but for the sins of the whole world.

The principal weekly worship service for Anglicans and Episcopalians is Holy Eucharist (also known as Holy Communion or the Lord's Supper). The service can be found in the 1979 Book of Common Prayer. It includes readings from the lectionary, a sermon, and the sacrament of Holy Eucharist. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion. Everyone is welcome to come forward for a blessing.

Although many kinds of songs are sung in church, tunes and lyrics for some of the classics can be found at The Cyber Hymnal and the Oremus Hymnal.

Sunday School

Sunday school classes are held for children and young people during the service. New kids and guests are always welcome!

Refreshments After Service

After the service you are invited to join us in the fellowship hall for coffee, tea, juice and a generous assortment of goodies.

Lectionary Readings and Bibles

St. Luke's follows a lectionary (currently it is the BCP lectionary). The lectionary assigns Bible readings to specific Sundays over a 3 year cycle. This ensures that the Bible reading are appropriate to the church year (i.e. that the Christmas story will be read at Christmas, etc.). You can see what the current assigned readings are at The Lectionary Page (be sure to check the BCP lectionary, not the RCL). To see the readings in their larger context, you can look at the Crosswalk Bible Site or the Bible Gateway. Both include many Bible study aides.
